Museum of the
History of the Inquisition Belo Horizonte, Brazil

The only museum of its kind in the Americas!

Marcello M. Guimares established the Museum of the History of the Inquisition in 2012.

The Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the Inquisition and its effects on the Brazilian people and cultural life.  

Through exhibits of authentic artifacts from Portugal, the Museum paints a stark picture of the atrocities perpetuated by the Catholic Church on the Jews of Portugal.

The Museum also house a collection of books and original documents from the period, available to be examined by the public and scholars.

The Museum is currently in beginning stages of a second floor that will be dedicated to historical and genealogical research for the people of Brazil and South America.

We have a pledge drive ongoing to raise $30,000 to be matched by a generous supporter from Taiwan.
